Laser hardening
Laser hardening increases wear resistance and extends the lifetime of tooling.
Advantages
- Hardening of the working surface to 55-60 HRc
Selective hardening in the stressed areas
- Hardening depth up to 2 mm (compared to nitriding hardness depth 0.2-0.3 mm)
- Reduced distortion due to low thermal stress
- Adjustment of hardening tools not necessary
- Minimizing of finishing work
Compare
We use Nd-YAG-laser hardening, which offers additional advantages compared to a conventional CO2-laser:
- Consistent depth and degree of hardening through directly controlled hardening temperature
- Hardening of 3D-contours
- No coating, therefore no blasting (surface finishing) necessary defined gauge width
